I have a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary studies and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of British Columbia. My doctoral work combined study in the areas of psychology, medicine and anthropology. This work focused specifically on the transcendence of witnessed suffering in health care professionals and understanding how to promote prevention of vicarious trauma. I have worked over 20 years as a psychotherapist in a variety of interdisciplinary work environments (hospitals, hospice programs, palliative care units, oncology, and private practice) dealing primarily with medical issues, grief /loss, trauma, vicarious trauma, personal growth, developmental issues and stress. I have additional specialized training in EMDR, conflict resolution, critical incident debriefing, dream work and voice therapy. I am also a Registered Social Worker.
